Hello friend,
Today we are going to be talking all things, North Houston Suburbs. If you are considering a relocation to North Houston, and you are looking to learn more about 1. What it is like living in north Houston, 2. Where should you move to in North Houston, or 3. What are the best neighborhoods in North Houston, then you are in the right spot! Hi my name is Jo (Jordan Marie Schilleci, real estate agent, lover of the great outdoors, mother, and wife), and I love to answer questions, and share my knowledge about Houston and its suburbs.
Before we get started, keep in mind each suburb, city, and neighborhood has so much to offer. I know that there are so many to choose from in the Houston area, and I know there is one that perfectly fits your needs. If you need help navigating, don’t forget to reach out to me (scheduling a call or email is best).
What to read next: Family Friendly & Kid Friendly Neighborhoods of… In these blog posts I take the A rated schools, and tell you what neighborhoods to check out!
Two other amazing resources are this blog and our YouTube Channel. The easiest way to navigate the blog is by using the search bar near the top right, or by using the categories. This page nicely organizes the most popular categories. Our goal at Jo & Co., isn’t to just be your REALTOR®, but your resource. Now to the meat and potatoes…
Help me learn all about the North Houston Suburbs
If we were to look at a map of the Houston suburbs and cities, we would notice that there is a big highway dividing it in half, creating a north side of Houston and a south side of Houston. To define the north area of Houston, I am going to focus on the suburbs with easy accessibility to I-45, which is the highway that divides Houston in half, creating an east side and west side, or Highway 249. This blog post is actually the first in a series (what follows will soon be links, so if the text doesn't work, the blog post hasn't been written yet): North Houston Suburbs, West Houston Suburbs, Northwest Houston Suburbs, East Houston Suburbs, Northeast Houston Suburbs, South Houston Suburbs, Southeast Suburbs, and Southwest Suburbs.
The cities and suburbs I am going to define as North Houston Suburbs are: Conroe, Montgomery, The Woodlands, Magnolia, Klein, Tomball and Spring. Now let's break down each city or suburb on the list.
The Cities & Suburbs of North Houston
Conroe TX
Conroe has been named the fastest growing city in the United States. And it certainly warrants that title because of all the land opportunities. Conroe, just north of the prestigious neighborhood of The Woodlands, houses the county seat and school district for The Woodlands. This area is popular for larger lot sizes and abundance of different neighborhoods in all price points. Also you cannot forget Conroe houses Lake Conroe: a 21,000-acre recreational lake!

Next on the list is Klein! This is probably one of the most established areas on the list. It can be defined as the school boundaries of Klein ISD. I talk a lot about Klein on the YouTube channel. It has so much to offer, including extreme affordability coupled with low crime. The taxes are super low, and there are some award winning schools that I cannot say enough about! Can you tell I live here? I love my proximity to the rest of Houston and The Woodlands. I feel like I am right in the middle of EVERYTHING.

Magnolia TX
Magnolia is amazing, and the city itself is just beautiful. Outdoor life is a big deal here due to the amazing nature & home town vibe. This city, is where you are going to find large lots, and communities with lakes! Within the city, there are frequent farmers markets, a variety of cafes & mom and pop restaurants with lovely patios, and it's home to Unity Park which is an award winning park & nature preserve full of scenic views and tons of activities for the whole family.

Montgomery TX
Montgomery is very pleasant, and the city itself gives a very good mix of suburban & rural life which makes for lots of great places to spend time outside. There’s much to be enjoyed here like Jenkins Sunshine Farm where you can get fresh eggs, fruits & veggies, and even head into their store front for their all natural skincare line. It’s also home to P-6 Farms which is a huge destination for all types of family fun & seasonal festivities. The neighborhoods and communities you find in Montgomery are one of a kind, with amenities parallel to none, and it has a great school district!

Spring TX

It houses a good section of The Woodlands, all of Klein, and lots of new construction off Rayford along the Grand Parkway 99. I talk a lot about Spring on the YouTube channel. This city as a whole houses all of my favorite communities, where I feel you can find something for anyone. The Woodlands TX
The Woodlands is an award winning master planned community north of Houston that many think is a city, when actually it is a newly established township. What makes The Woodlands amazing, is the level of dedication and attention that was put into its concept and execution. It truly is a bubble surrounded by the most beautiful trees and water features. The Woodlands was developed in villages, and truly has something for everyone. Homes start in the $250s, but starting in the $400s is where you really find the “good stuff”. What makes The Woodlands most loved is the walkability, community wide amenities, and easy access to the best shopping and restaurants! You can learn more about The Woodlands by visiting our YouTube Channel, by emailing us, or even by scheduling a 1-on-1 call with me, Jordan!

Tomball TX
Tomball is an amazing community and city that some forget about. I am loving the newer neighborhoods in Tomball and the school district as a whole. If I were to move anytime soon, I would either move to Montgomery County or seek out Tomball ISD in the rural areas. There is a lot to know about Tomball, including it has one of the cutest downtowns in all of Tomball
