For the thirteenth year in a row, Klein ISD has proudly been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for 2024. This accolade is a testament to our deep-seated commitment to fostering musical talent and education within our community—a commitment that fills us with immense pride and joy.
For over a quarter-century, NAMM has honored communities that demonstrate exceptional dedication to music education. The Best Communities for Music Education award celebrates the extraordinary efforts of educators, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who believe in the transformative power of music as an essential component of a comprehensive education.
Klein ISD's Superintendent, Dr. Jenny McGown, shares her pride: “Here in Klein ISD, our tradition of excellence in the fine arts is something we hold dear. Being recognized repeatedly as a top community for music education nationally is a great honor. I am truly thankful for our outstanding music educators who inspire and nurture our students' musical and creative talents. Congratulations to all for this well-deserved recognition!”
To be considered for this honor, school districts must submit a detailed 50-page application, providing in-depth insights into their music education programs, including aspects like funding, enrollment, and overall program support.
Frank Chuter, Klein ISD's Director of Fine Arts, added, “It is a profound honor to receive this distinction for the thirteenth consecutive year. This recognition speaks volumes about our continuous commitment to excellence in music education and the exceptional opportunities we provide.
