Many of Missouri City’s older neighborhoods, built before 2005, offer mature trees, spacious lots, and a variety of architectural styles. Whether you're drawn to lower tax rates, historic charm, or a well-established community feel, these areas have something special to offer. Here are some of the notable ones:
1. Quail Valley
Quail Valley is Missouri City’s first master-planned community, developed in the late 1960s through the 1980s. It features tree-lined streets, spacious homes, and the popular Quail Valley Golf Course. The neighborhood offers a mix of townhomes, patio homes, and single-family residences, with easy access to parks, trails, and local shopping.
2. Lake Olympia
Lake Olympia, built in the 1980s and early 2000s, is known for its lakefront homes, lush landscaping, and serene setting. The community features walking trails, a marina, and a clubhouse, making it one of Missouri City’s most scenic neighborhoods.
3. Colony Lakes
Colony Lakes, developed in the 1990s and early 2000s, offers waterfront living with homes surrounding a scenic lake. The neighborhood includes parks, walking trails, and a strong community atmosphere while being minutes from Sugar Land Town Square.
4. Heritage Colony
Heritage Colony, built in the 1990s and early 2000s, is a family-friendly neighborhood with well-maintained homes, community pools, and parks. Located near Highway 6, it provides easy access to top-rated Fort Bend ISD schools and shopping centers.
5. Lexington Colony
Lexington Colony, developed in the 1980s and 1990s, features traditional brick homes, mature trees, and a quiet suburban atmosphere. The community is known for its affordable housing, strong neighborhood involvement, and proximity to schools and parks.
6. Brightwater
Brightwater, built in the 1990s and early 2000s, is a picturesque lakeside community with walking trails, fountains, and scenic views. The neighborhood is known for well-kept homes, a community clubhouse, and access to great schools.
7. Oyster Creek Plantation
Oyster Creek Plantation, developed in the 1990s and early 2000s, is a peaceful residential community offering spacious homes, well-maintained streets, and green spaces. It provides a small-town feel while being close to major highways and shopping centers.

10. Lexington Point
