Today I wanted to write a quick post addressing one of the most popular questions that was asked to Mr.Google in 2022, “Should I sell my house now or wait until 2023?”
My thoughts behind this blog post were “mistakes”. And if you are thinking about selling right now, I want to help you avoid these mistakes in 2023. So let's dive in… The mistakes are in bold, and I elaborated upon them thereafter…
- Not working with the best marketing agency in town that just so happens to be a real estate agent and brokerage. At Jo & Co., we spend more money marketing your home than any other realtor. We understand what it takes to get a home to sell, and we are also the most active real estate brokerage on the Internet.
- Selling when inventory is higher than demand. I do understand that your life’s needs might not work with the timing of the market, but there are better months than others to list. It is important to collaborate with an expert to create your timeline to get your home sold along with your expectations.
- Trying to sell your home that isn’t move-in ready, at a move-in ready price. As one example, it is important to be realistic, and realize that you might not get the same dollar amount as your neighbor down the street, who renovated their whole home from top to bottom, and yours is mostly original. But overall, being realistic and looking at more than just numbers when collaborating with your real estate agent when establishing your asking price.
- Not decluttering your home. For the professional photography to really deliver, it is important that your home shines in the photographs and not your treasures. At Jo & Co., we have the option of two photography sessions for your home: one with you and your belongings (you get to keep and cherish these photos because they were taken just for you), and one session taken once the home is staged to sell.
