Hi there. Sometimes it's good to get out of your bubble and do something different for a change, so today I wanted to share a list of some great places to venture out to on your next day trip!
- Huntsville State Park: If you're wanting a nature filled day of adventure, this 2,000 acre state park is the spot to be. Completely surrounded by tall shady trees, you can walk or bike on the many winding trails & do guided horse back riding trips. There's a large lake where you can fish, swim in the designated swimming area, & rent kayaks, canoes, or paddleboats. They have an on site shop for a variety of needs, plenty of helpful staff, and camp grounds if you decide to stay the night.
- The Blue Lagoon: This is a stunning lagoon in Huntsville nestled in the woods. The water is so clear that you'll be dying to jump in as soon as you get there. When you go you rent a spot for the day & can bring whatever you like(except glass) to make your day comfortable, like lounge chairs, floaties, coolers full of food & drinks, etc. You can also opt to do scuba tours guided by trained professionals while you're there.
- Blue Bell Creamery: The city of Brenham itself is a really fun place to visit and has much to be seen & experienced, but specifically I wanted to talk about the Blue bell Creamery. What started as a small business in 1907 quickly became something huge, this creamery takes you back in time with it's memorabilia & old fashioned ice cream trucks parked out front. You can learn just how the ice cream is made and sample all kinds of flavors. They have an on site ice cream & gift shop as well.
- Franklin Drive Thru Safari: If your an animal lover then you'll be amazed by this drive through safari full of amazing exotic animals. They have everything from various reptiles & birds to Zebras & giraffes, you can even opt to do guided tours where you're likely to get more animal interactions. They also have a baby animal room where you can cuddle all kinds of sweet baby animals.
- Grand Station Entertainment: This family fun center has everything you need to have a day full of fun at any age. There's bowling, arcade style games, mini golf, axe throwing, and one of the largest laser tag arenas in Texas. They also have a sports bar with great food & drink options, as well as TVs playing a variety of different sports games.
