Are you curious what the best high schools are in the Houston Texas Suburbs? Well today I am going to be sharing with you just that! I personally know how important schools can be to a parent, and that is why I created this list just for you. I think it is important to note, that the schools in the first list before aren't just the best high schools in the Houston Suburbs (I did include all of them), but they are also the most competitive…
So please keep that in mind when you decide to enroll your children in them. In Texas, if your child is in the top 10% (top 5% for the most competitive colleges), then your child will be accepted into any public college of their choice. The more competitive the high school, the harder it will be to be in the top 10%. Your child will have to take all of the highest level classes, and get As in all of them, to make the top 10%. I wanted to make sure you knew the other side of the coin of “enrolling your kid in the best school”.
Katy ISD

Tompkins High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Fort Bend ISD
Clements High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Dulles High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Elkins High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Austin High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Pasadena ISD
Dr Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School
Pearland ISD
Glenda Dawson High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (Cy-Fair ISD)

So for the list below, I made sure the school was A rated by the TEA (Texas Education Agency), this is the only rating and ranking system I respect and acknowledge, and it received all “Distinct Designations” including (Reading/ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies). For the list below, I am now including the B-rated schools, but they must have also received the same four Distinct Designations, so in my opinion, the list above and below should be weighted pretty equally. And my kids attended an A-rated elementary school, and B-rated middle and high that received all four designations.
Galveston ISD

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (Cy-Fair ISD)
Jersey Village High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Fort Bend ISD
Kempner High School – Homes that zone to the high school.
Magnolia ISD
