Hello friend. Today, I wanted to share with you the best master-planned communities with homes under $400k in Porter, TX. To be considered for this list, you need to be master-planned and be highly desirable for one reason or another and have homes for sale under $400k. Most of these neighborhoods and communities have the best amenities around, and each one is loved for different reasons. Location with proximity to The Woodlands or major highways, which schools one zones to, and the tax rate, are the top three reasons why someone considers one neighborhood over the other. 1. The Highlands – The Highlands is a master-planned community in Porter, Texas. It is home to 4,000 homes being developed by 12 award-winning home builders. The Highlands also offers duo homes and active adult homes. It combines the best aspects of small-city living with convenient access to big-city opportunities and world-class amenities and activities. The Highlands community features a waterpark with a lazy river and resort-style swimming pools with splash pads. The largest of the Highlands lakes, Mirror Lake and Emerald Lake, are inviting waterholes, perfect for paddleboarding, fishing, kayaking and so much more! The tax rate for this community is 3.67%.
2. Royal Brook, Kingwood – If you're looking to live in a master-planned community with lots of amenities, we highly recommend Kingwood Royal Brook. The community boasts impressive amenities, including a recreation center with clubhouse, a Junior Olympic competition swimming pool, five miles of trails tying into the Kingwood trail system, a nature preserve and greenbelts of dedicated open space to enjoy nature playgrounds, a dedicated patio home section featuring a 6.5-acre passive park area, and more. The community is also minutes from Lake Houston and Lake Houston Wilderness Park, which provide outdoor recreational opportunities. The 2023 tax rate for this community is 2.58%.
3. Woodridge Forest – You'll love how close you are to nature at Woodridge Forest! This 332-acre community is nestled in a livable forest that's connected to nature. Residents can walk their children to an on-site middle school, enjoy 75 miles of trails, relax at the community center pool, play in the splash park, or fish in one of the community's stocked ponds. Plus, there are lots of great amenities nearby: Sugar Land's First Colony Mall is just a few minutes away by car, as is the Energy Corridor and Westchase Districts with their great restaurants and shopping options. It doesn't get any more convenient than this! The 2023 tax rate for Woodridge Forest is 3.69%.
