Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring our surrounding communities and today we are looking at some Texas barbecue in Tomball, TX! Who knew mixing chocolate and barbecue would be such a hit? They just followed along the path they were on and ended up opening this joint!
Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue first started as their own chocolate Craftory, as they like to put it. They have perfected the art of hand crafted chocolate. When roasting the cocoa beans, they are fire roasted in clay bricks that are hand made which allows them to establish rich flavors. Once they grind the beans to create an effortless texture, they allow the chocolate to age for the flavors to develop even more.
The barbecue side of the shop came a little later, after the chocolate has already established a name for itself. They like to keep things simple as they start out their barbecue with a simple brisket rub of equal parts salt and pepper. Their pit is where the magic happens as the only source of fuel is from real wood logs to produce a subtle smoky flavor. You are able to choose from brisket, pork shoulder, pork ribs, pork belly, turkey, chicken and sausage that is ground in house. Keep in mind there are daily specials to look for!
With the prime cuts of meat that are slowly cooked to perfection and chocolate bars that are formed using minimal ingredients to let the flavors shine themselves, you will want to check this place out. Pairing chocolate and barbecue together!? Who would have thought, but it clearly works!
Remember to support the members of our community while they provide us some great food! Let us know in the comments or in our DM's on Instagram if you end up grubbing on some barbecue @jordanschilleci and @byjoandco.
