Help me learn all about the Northwest Houston Suburbs
If we were to look at a map of the Houston suburbs and cities, we would notice that there are two highways heading west out of Houston, Highway 249 and Highway 290. For the purpose of this blog post, we are going to describe anything with easy access to 249 or 290 as Northwest Houston. This blog post is actually the second in a series (if the text/link doesn't work, the blog post hasn't been written yet): North Houston Suburbs, West Houston Suburbs, Northwest Houston Suburbs, East Houston Suburbs, Northeast Houston Suburbs, South Houston Suburbs, Southeast Suburbs, and Southwest Suburbs.
The cities and suburbs I am going to define as Northwest Houston Suburbs are: Cypress TX and Jersey Village, but I want to throw in Tomball (includes Pinehurst) again, as well as two zip codes: 77069 and 77070 (which are “Houston” or “Spring) . Now let's break down each city or suburb on the list.
The Cities & Suburbs of Northwest Houston
Cypress TX
Cypress has seen some astronomical growth of the last 5-10 years. And with the introduction and growth of the retail centers, it is really turning into the suburb we always wanted it to become. Fairfield and the general area around Fairfield was the original heart of Cypress, but the attention is more in the Bridgeland and Towne Lake are of Cypress now. In Cypress you can find the infamous 290 Cypress Outlets aka, one of my favorite places to shop (Hello Nike, Burberry, Saks off 5th, and so much more. Lol.). If you have never heard of Bridgeland of Towne Lake, you are really missing out. Bridgeland is the fastest growing master planned community in all of Houston.

Jersey Village TX
Next on the list is Jersey Village! Jersey Village is actually a city, with a population of 7,814. The growth in the area as been slightly decreasing in the five years, which I think is attributing to children leaving for college. Jersey Village is served by Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. Jersey Village's residential areas are zoned to Post Elementary School, which is located in Jersey Village. Students continue on to Cook Middle School in unincorporated Harris County and Jersey Village High School in Jersey Village. Jersey Village offers residents a variety of recreational activities. The town has a golf course (Jersey Meadow Golf Course), a public swimming pool, and a public park with playground facilities. There is also a small lake owned and maintained by the Jersey Village's homeowners association with fishing available to residents and guests who have homes on the shores of the lake. It is important to note, that Jersey Village and its 600 homes, is one of the few areas in Houston that doesn’t have Home Owner’s Association (HOA) dues. This community features a mixture of upgraded original homes to the 80s homes and modern custom-built homes, with many homes on oversized lots, and it is serviced by its local police and fire departments. Jersey Village is just a short drive from Downtown Houston, Memorial City, The Galleria, The Energy Corridor, and CityCentre Plaza.

Tomball TX
Tomball is an amazing community and city that some forget about. I am loving the newer neighborhoods in Tomball and the school district as a whole. If I were to move anytime soon, I would either move to Montgomery County or seek out Tomball ISD in the rural areas. There is a lot to know about Tomball, including it has one of the cutest downtowns in all of Tomball
