Hi there. Today I wanted to talk a little bit about Klein, more specifically some of the amazing parks that the area has to offer. The weather here is lovely almost all year round, so getting outdoors is easy to do, especially if you have kids who need to get all of their energy out!
Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve
An 80 acre park with a lake, fishing piers, and canoe launch. There's 1.7 miles of paved trails on the land and a covered picnic area with restrooms near by.
Collins Park
This 55 acre park contains 4 lighted baseball fields, 2 giant playgrounds, sand volleyball court and a skate park among many other things. There's tables and grill set ups to eat and relax as well. This diverse park has something for everyone.
Meyer Park
180 aces filled with 26 soccer fields, a basketball court, 2 softball fields, and 15 exercise stations. Not to mention 2 playgrounds, a 3 acre lake for fishing, nature trails and a duck pond. There's plenty to see and do here.
Burroughs Park
This is a huge, 320 acre park filled with 8 miles of trails, a lake for fishing & kayaking, sports fields, multiple playgrounds, a pavilion with many picnic areas & bbq pits, and an observation deck & boardwalk. They also have a large, well shaded dog park.
Ponderosa Walking Park
20 acre nature park that's full of scenic trails, tons of trees, and natural wildlife. It has a small lake with a boardwalk that you can fish from, and this park is known for being able to see lots of birds & other small animals. There's also a beautiful open green space with a pavilion & picnic area, and a super cute covered space that's wrapped in vines & flowers.
Theis Attaway Nature Center
This 4 acre nature preserve may be on the smaller side but it's very nice. It has walking trails with signs talking about the wildlife & plant life, picnic areas, a fishing pond, & amphitheater. There's many scenic views here & benches placed throughout the park to rest.
There's many more parks in the area to be enjoyed. Most neighborhoods feature community parks with playgrounds, picnic areas, and trails. Master planned communities will typically have a large main park with a pool, playground, sports fields & more, as well as having many different pocket parks spread throughout the area. Either way, it's pretty easy to find a fun park nearby with tons to do!
