Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., headquartered in The Woodlands, is constructing a 13-story apartment complex and a townhome community in The Woodlands Town Center. Named “1 Riva Row”, this development, which began in late August, will feature 268 luxury units, divided between the apartment tower and a four-story townhome structure. These units will range from studios to three-bedroom floor plans.
This development is notable as it introduces the first penthouse units in The Woodlands. Crystal Bledsoe, the vice president of multifamily for Howard Hughes, emphasized that “1 Riva Row” aims to redefine luxury living in the area, offering top-tier amenities in a prime location within The Woodlands' urban core.
Located beside the waterway, “1 Riva Row” is a short walk from major attractions like The Woodlands Waterway, The Woodlands Mall, and Hughes Landing. Residents will have easy access to water sports at Riva Row Boat House, community events at Town Green Park, and performances at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
The development boasts a range of amenities:
- A four-story amenity center with an indoor-outdoor pool, cabanas, fire pit, and lounge seating.
- A sports lounge equipped with TVs, a pool table, and a sports simulator.
- A sky lounge terrace.
- A pet-friendly environment with a dedicated park and wash station.
- A two-story fitness center offering diverse workout options, including TRX.
- A bike room for storage and repairs, as well as kayak storage.
- Walking, jogging, and running trails along the 1.8-mile waterway.
- A business center with coworking spaces, conference rooms, and private offices.
The project is set for completion by the end of 2025.
Despite facing a net loss in the second quarter and a decrease in earnings, Howard Hughes reported a 39% increase in home sales from the previous year, with over half of these sales occurring in Houston. The company is renowned for its master-planned communities, including The Woodlands and Bridgeland in Cypress.
Recently, Howard Hughes Corp. transitioned to its new parent company, Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., aiming to separate its real estate and non-real estate assets. This strategic move followed the company's shift from Dallas to The Woodlands and its decision to focus on its primary master-planned community ventures.
In 2022, Howard Hughes reported a revenue of $1.61 billion, ranking 55th on the Houston Business Journal's list of Largest Houston-Area Public Companies.
