Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding areas. The weather is finally cooling down a bit for us, and by that I mean it's a little cooler in the mornings and evenings and still hot during the midday. But hey that's Texas for ya. Nonetheless, we still like to get outside in the fresh air. Today we are exploring parks in Montgomery, TX!
Cedar Brake Park | TX-105, Montgomery, TX 77356
Located right in the center of Montgomery, Cedar Brake Park spreads out among 5-acres to provide you with ample space to play and walk. People of all ages are able to come out and enjoy a nice stroll or a nice evening picnic. They have it all here from barbecue pits to a sandbox, volleyball courts to a toddler playground and they even have a nice simple fountain. You will find a statue at the park as it commemorates, Charles B. Stewart, one of the first pioneers of Montgomery.
Wallaroo Park | 110 Wallaroo Way Montgomery, TX 77316
Sitting right inside Woodforest, one of the main highlights in Wallaroo Park is the Sona Play Arch. This structure has interactive technology featuring colors and numbers on the ground below it. This structure is accessible for all children, in wheelchairs and also with mental and physical disabilities. Along with that structure, Wallaroo Park also features an array of various swings, unique playground equipment and an accessible roller slide for all kids!
Memory Park | Bessie Price Owen Dr, Montgomery, TX 77356
Tucked behind the Charles B. Stewart Library is a hidden gem and peaceful quiet place. Fitting with the name, walk among the memorials of those serving or passed and gaze upon the fountains in the middle of the lake. There is an outdoor reading path, The StoryWalk, where each sign is a page from a book. Children of all ages are encouraged to walk and read each one, completing the book at the end. The book is changed out several times a year for fresh new reads. You will also find a Shakespeare garden, bridges, rainwater projects, relaxing benches and nice waterfall stream.
Homecoming Park | 720 Community Dr. MontgomeryTX77356
In the midst of a residential community, you will find Homecoming Park. This park is a great park for a casual day to sit, relax, read, have a picnic and watch the kids play! You will find a covered pavilion, large grassy area, swings and a playground! If you like sports and need a place to play some pick-up basketball or volleyball, this is a great spot to throw the ball around.
Kingsley Park | Remington Rd. Montgomery, TX 77316
This park is for you adults! Think of Kingsley Park as a big backyard for y'all to hang out with your friends! Right inside Woodforest Community, you'll find lots of chairs gathered under string lights, fire pits and even a little bar area to have a cook-out. It's also fitted with corn hole boards and picnic benches to have room for a spread of food for the hangouts. There is plenty of space for kids to run around while the parents socialize.
