Hi friend! Are you planning to visit Richmond and want to know what things you can do while there? If so, keep reading!
Located 15 miles southwest of Houston in Fort Bend County, Richmond is rich with history. The area became known as “Fort Bend” or “Fort Settlement” after a fort was built at the bend of the Brazos River that served as the settlement’s epicenter. In 1837, the city was incorporated into one of 19 cities established by the Republic of Texas; and it was given its current name after Richmond, England.
Today you can still find beautifully preserved historic homes and cultural centers, as well as historical landmarks and attractions. With so much to do here, it's easy to see why Richmond is growing as a tourist destination.
To help you discover the hidden gems of this city, we’ve put together a list of some of the most interesting things to do in this area. We’ll cover some amazing restaurants, attractions, and even model homes to visit. I hope you find this list helpful during your stay, especially if it is your first visit!
