Wanting to step into the air conditioning and be immersed in all things art? The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts offers original artwork along with educational materials open to the public.
Pearl Fincher was a notable woman who lived a life of service and leadership in her community. She was a strong believer in education and having kids experience art at the an early age. She went on to opening The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in 2008 for the community to be involved. This museum provides the public with a variety of fresh and new exhibits in the main gallery. Along with the exhibits, the educational resources are outstanding.
The Pearl School of Art – Link
This art school provides small classes to the youth and adults to cultivate an atmosphere where they are able to learn various styles and methods while exploring and expanding their skills. They offer a variety of themed classes each month for adults in watercolor and sculpting. Classes are offered throughout the week to fit any schedule. Along with classes, they offer workshops and summer camps.
Art for Healing – Link
The museum also offer art therapy, Art for Healing, for veterans and first responders. They are able to utilize these free, specifically crafted classes to help encourage their physical, social and emotional needs. These classes are lead by a licensed art therapist.
Art Start – Link
Get your kids ages 5 and under involved with art related activities and story time every Thursday morning. Here they will be able to stimulate their creativity at an early age.
Museum Family Days – Link
Once a month, the museum offers free family days that involve the whole family. Usually held on Saturdays, you are able to participate in art projects and enjoy a variety of entertainment.
