I know that there are tons of neighborhoods to choose from in the Houston area, but I also know there is one that perfectly fits your needs. Each suburb, city, and neighborhood has so much to offer. Where is The Highlands:
The Highlands is located in Montgomery County, along Grand Parkway 99. The Highlands is just a short drive north of Houston, TX, and east from The Woodlands and Conroe.
Why folks choose The Highlands:
The Highlands is the newest master-planned community in Porter, Texas. The Highlands is a 2,300-acre community with more than 4,000 homes being developed by 12 award-winning home builders! Home prices in this community range from the $270s to the $700s and beyond. The Highlands also offer duet homes and active adult homes! The Highlands community combines the best aspects of small-town living with convenient access to big-city opportunities with world-class amenities and activities.

Amenities in The Highlands:
The Highlands world-class amenities have everything from outdoor adventure to indoor fun and life on the water! The Highlands feature a waterpark with a lazy river and resort-style swimming pools with splashpads. The largest of The Highlands lakes, Mirror Lake and Emerald Lake, are inviting waterholes, perfect for paddleboarding, fishing, and kayaking. The amenity center is situated on the largest lake and is the site for special events, holiday celebrations, engaging activities, classes and demonstrations. The fitness center offers the latest in cardio machines and weight-lifting equipment for individual sessions and group classes. There is also an outdoor yoga space. The golf course is a semi-private 18-hole course that meanders through the community. The Highlands has over 30 miles of maintained bike and hike trails. Also nestled among 100-year-old cypress trees, the preserve features a 1-mile sandy beach on the San Jacinto, lakes for fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking, and miles of trails.
District Rating:
B Rated | New Caney ISD believes there is a set of skills, knowledge, and attitudes essential for a purposeful and productive life. The school district and community have committed to designing modern learning environments in high quality facilities, providing students with a wide range of opportunities for college and career exploration, and hiring the best teachers in Texas so that graduates will be equipped to thrive in the REALITY of their future.
New Caney ISD received a B, or an 85 out of 100, for a student enrollment of 15,360. The district improved from its 2017-18 rating of a C, or 76 out of 100 possible points. Out of all the district's campuses, one campus received an A, seven received a B, seven received a C, two received a D and one received an F. Below you will see the A rated and B rated schools.

Also, near The Highlands is Kroger, Walgreens, Tractor Supply, Academy, Caney Creek Park, Rusty Buckle BBQ, and Old Houston Ice House.
