WHY PEOPLE LOVE FIRST COLONY IN SUGAR LAND TX
Where is First Colony:
Located in Sugar Land TX off of Highway 6 and Southwest Freeway 59 within the southern portion of Sugar Land overlapping Missouri City.
Why folks choose First Colony:
First Colony Sugar Land is a large master-planned community consisting of many different subdivisions in the heart of Sugar Land, on the southwest side of Houston. First Colony is located in one of the top suburbs to live well in the Houston area based upon accessibility, amenities, schools, and overall livability. CNN/Money and Money Magazine also list the master-planned community’s location as one of the “Best Cities to Live in the United States”. First Colony has over 61 subdivisions featuring upscale neighborhoods and golf course communities including Sweetwater Estates, a luxury gated community built around the Sweetwater Country Club Golf Course. Amazing in amenities and conveniences. It has a unique blend of residential neighborhoods and businesses with protective architectural guidelines. Primarily built between 1977 and 2000, most of the homes in this neighborhood are Traditional or Colonial in style with a few Mediterranean homes mixed in. First Colony offers a scenic view of tree lined streets, miles of walking paths, lush parks, 10 swimming pools. With convenient access to the Southwest Freeway I-59 First Colony is less than 20 miles from downtown Houston.

Amenities in First Colony:
The master-planned community also features the First Colony Mall, 11 clubhouses with swimming pools, playgrounds and sports facilities, and the Oyster Creek Boathouse. There are also miles of hike-and-bike trails, lakes, and parks within the communities. Several highly rated Yelp restaurants and shops are located in and around First Colony.
District Rating:
A-Rated | Fort Bend ISD has overall A's in academics, diversity, sports, college prep, and clubs & activities. Fort Bend ISD earned a Superior rating, an A, in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2019-20 school year. The district scored 92 points out of a possible 100 rating points, and this is FBISD’s 17th Superior rating. Fort Bend County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. As the largest school district in the county, Fort Bend ISD is an outstanding K-12 public education system.The District is Texas’ eighth largest with more than 77,000 students and one of the most diverse in the nation. Working and learning cohesively alongside families who speak more than 90 languages and dialects, the schools work together with students, their families and the community to address each student’s unique needs. FBISD currently has 81 campuses: 11 high schools, 15 middle schools, 51 elementary campuses and four specialty schools to address the academic and vocational interests of students. With more than 11,000 full-time employees and substitutes, the District is the largest employer in Fort Bend County. Fort Bend ISD is committed to its mission to inspire and equip all students to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine.
