Good morning!!!
You have no idea how hard it is for me right now to not type in all capitals, Lol. I really really wanna do so, because today is the day y'all. Today is closing day. It was suppose to be Thursday, and then it was suppose to be Friday, but in the end, Monday is the day. I can't believe it is finally here. We have waited a month + several others, Lol, for this. We have attached ourselves to many other houses, but settled (in a good way, not bad), on The Tudor.
You already know this, but I am big plans for that tudor. One huge thing, is to get that sign up in the yard! I kind of know what I want. It will be made mostly out of wood, if not all of it will be out of wood. And it will be kind of big. Not big in your face, but uniquely perfect big. Lol.
Then the next thing on my mind, is tearing down all that shrubbery that prevents you from seeing the front of the house. I have documented really well, a whole bunch of before photos of the outside, and a video of the inside. Here is the video link on my Facebook.
I cannot believe they didn't cut back the landscaping to feature the house, but that is just want I am going to do. I am sure you can understand why this is like the first thing we must do, and why I am so excited about it! The property/home is going to look so different. The neighbors, and the elementary/middle school parents that drop their kids off at school each day are going to be scratching their heads!
I don't think we will do much else to the outside of the home. We wanna keep it pretty original. Well at least the brick. We will need new windows, the current ones are painted closed, which will lead to new trim I suppose. The metal railing around the patio will probably need a fresh coat of paint, we will probably pressure wash everything, and then I want to repaint the concrete patio with maybe a tile pattern.
Now the inside, that is where things will get turned on their side. I have a zillion pins on my Pinterest board with ideas. One that I am most excited about, is creating a concrete fireplace. Eeeek. The photo I found, is pure amazing! We need to sand the floors and remove the popcorn ceilings. Then tear down some walls and slap on some new paint. The biggest project will be the kitchen. We have the appliances picked up, and then everything else will fall into place around those. We want to tie in more concrete. I want it to be the floors, but my husband wants it to be the counter tops. I think I want a thick white counter top, and then wood cabinets, stained in a pretty medium honey stain. And then a huge fire house kitchen!
Okay okay.. going down that rabbit hole again. Day dreams are nice. So yep, today is the day. I want to plan a big party around renovating, but not sure 100% what to do. Ahhh, but some details are coming to me now. I think my next business mixer (November), will be the #DEMODAY party. Stay tuned.
I am off to get this day started, and to sign those closing papers!
