Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding areas and we are exploring a variety of parks today! Woodforest is a masterplanned community and is home to some fantastic parks, let's check them out.
Monarch Park
This is a favorite spot in Woodforest! It’s a butterfly themed park and playground that caters to different age ranges, so any kid can play. It’s tucked behind some trees and has easy access to the different neighborhoods surrounding it.
Christine Allen Nature Park
This nature park spans over 33 acres. Here you can go for a casual stroll, jog or take your pet for a walk. There’s a grassy space to lay out in the lawn and read a nice book as well! This loops around a pond and you will also find trails that are off the cemented path for you to explore. Here you're able to enjoy the sounds of nature and see some wildlife.
Everett's Peak Park
Everett's Peak Park is built for adventurers! The treehouse play structure towers above your head with a fun slide coming down from the top. There are picnic tables, grassy areas that are open and swings. It is set up with nice string lights in the trees and I will say that's a nice touch.
Fox Trail Park
This is where the neighborhood gathers. Think of it as your extended backyard space. It’s tree-lined and it has a great outdoor kitchen space for barbecues, a fire pit to gather around and string lights up in the trees for a great ambience.
Kingsley Park
This park has two different playground structures, one aimed more for the bigger kids and the other is more for the toddlers. There are swings for all ages and a covered pavilion with tables for snacks or lunch. Here you will also find fun wildlife carvings in the playground structures!
Kinderwood Park
This is the playground of nature. Here the kids can balance on logs and climb on boulders. They do have traditional playground equipment as well but this park does a great job of integrating nature along with it.
Scooter Park
This spot is a very active park. It has a seesaw, a merry-go-round, play structures with slides, and a race track for scooters that circles around the playground. Kids love this park because of all the space they have to move around and be free!
Wallaroo Park
Wallaroo Park features a Sona Play Arch, which is an interactive technology arch that uses smart camera technology to pick up movements of those playing games with it. It is also ADA-accessible and has ample space for everyone! Fitted with swings and a slide, it features some musical equipment and even a little reading library.
Stampede Sportsplex
The Stampede Sportsplex is more than a park! It offers three soccer fields perfect for practices and pick up soccer games. There are lights on the field for evening play. The space is also home to the Houston Dynamo/Dash youth soccer club! There is a playground, concession stand, restrooms and a plaza with covered seating. There are plans to keep expanding this sportsplex, so keep your eyes open to see what’s next!
Hope you're able to stop at some of these great parks! Let us know if you go, you can email us, leave a comment below, or tag us on Instagram! @jordanschilleci and @byjoandco.
