Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding communities and today we are in Tomball, TX. We made a stop by the Railroad Depot in Downtown Tomball.
The Railroad Depot in Tomball is filled with history. Being established in 1907, the depot museums contains antiques, trail memorabilia, two detailed train models and original artwork. It is sitting right next to a park where you are able to enjoy a pleasant picnic or afternoon in the sun. This is a perfect place to bring kids so they can explore the trains and run around in the open grass and they also have a splashpad that is open during the summer months. The museum is open for free tours on Saturdays from 10AM – 2PM but you are also able to call them to set up appointments during the week.
On site, you will also find a gazebo to rest under. This is a great spot for pictures, a small family picnic and to rest! It was dedicated to Tomball to celebrate the 100th birthday of Tomball. The buildings at the Railroad Depot are well preserved and kept up for a great experience. Keep your eyes open for events at the depot as they host events throughout the year. Some of these events include the Tomball German Heritage Festival, Rails & Trails Mug Bug Festival, Groovfest and more!
If you want to get out and enjoy a day in Downtown Tomball, this is great option to spend some time outside and learn a little history about the great city of Tomball. We hope you are able to make it to the Railroad Depot and check out all that it offers! Let us know in the comments or in our DM's on Instagram if you end up going @jordanschilleci and @byjoandco.
