Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding communities and we stopped at Theiss Farms Market! Keep in mind they do have two different locations and today we are looking at the Rayford location.
Grown fresh and local, this is a market you don't want to miss to get the freshest food. The Theiss family has been producing food in the county for over 150 years for the community to enjoy and in return, the community has helped support this market form day 1. They strive to have the best produce at the best prices possible so it is affordable for everyone.
Theiss Farms Market is open 7 days a week from 10AM – 6PM where you are able to find, fresh fruits and vegetables. While they do grow their own produce, they also source out produce from other Texas farmers, states and even countries! Everything that is homegrown is clearly marked. The workers were very helpful and knowledgeable to answer any questions we had.
The vegetables were all perfect as none of them had bruises or harsh marks. We were able to pick them right from the top which is great so we didn't have to dig through the pile like you do at grocery stores. With the fresh produce, you are able to find homemade goodies such as jams, jellies and pickles. They also had a wide variety of flowers and plants to pick from too! Some of the plants included hanging baskets, fruit trees and potted plants. They continue to add more plants and flowers every year. Aside from the fresh produce and plants, they also sell handmade, rustic furniture and decor.
It's important to keep in mind to shop local so we can support the members of our community while they provide us some great food!
