Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding areas. The weather is finally cooling down a bit for us, and by that I mean it's a little cooler in the mornings and evenings and still hot during the midday. But hey that's Texas for ya. Nonetheless, we still like to get outside in the fresh air. Today we are exploring parks in Conroe, TX!
Kasmiersky Park | 889 Old Magnolia Rd, Conroe, TX 77304
Get your skate on at Kasmiersky! This local park is known and loved for its skate park. After you're done skating you can take a stroll on the 1/2 mile trail! Kasmiersky also offers a playground, that is ADA compliant, some picnic tables, an athletic field and a covered pavilion. There are also climbing structures along with the playground. Your dogs will love it too as there is an off-leash area for them to run around!
MLK Jr. Park | 1001 Dr. MLK Jr, Place South Conroe, TX 77301
Spread out over 25 acres, this park features a spacious splash pad to cool off during the midday heat. You'll find multiple basketball courts here along with open athletic fields. There is a 1/2 mile paved trail to take a walk or run with your furry friend. There are two play structures here, one aimed more towards the little kids and the other is more equipped for the big kids. There are picnic tables, barbecue pits and benches throughout the park.
McDade Park | 10310 FM 2854 Conroe, TX 77304
If you like playing disc golf, McDade is your park! Throw the frisbee through the 18-hole course around this 38 acre park. Equipped with a playground, basketball court and pavilion, you will also find a 1/2 mile walking/jogging trail with exercise stations. There is an athletic field for games and a lake where you can go fishing. One unique amenity about this park is not just one, but two horseshoe pits!
Candy Cane Park | 1201 Candy Cane Ln, Conroe, TX 77301
One of Conroe's more popular parks, Candy Cane Park has it all! It has three different playgrounds, climbing rock walls and swings! You will also find some tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and a basketball court here too. There are a couple covered pavilions to rest in the shade. There are paved trails that weave throughout the park for walking and jogging as well. The Conroe Aquatic Center is located right next door for easy access to go swimming and the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County is located on site at Candy Cane Park!
John Burge Park at Shadow Lakes | 11050 Little Egypt Rd. Conroe, TX 77304
Sitting in the city's northwest corner, this is a great pick if you want to spend some time looking at art while at the park! John Burge Park offers a public art space featuring “The Magnolia Tree” by artist Craig Campobella. There is a 1 mile walking/jogging trails along with other weaved through the park. It's a great place to bring your bike! You will find another 18-hold disc golfing course that is spread throughout. A grand covered pavilion is on site to host small gatherings and rest in the shade for some lunch.
