WHY PEOPLE LOVE WALNUT BEND IN HOUSTON TX
Where is Walnut Bend:
Walnut Bend is located in Houston, Texas, south of the Buffalo Bayou, about 9 miles away from the Galleria and Energy Corridor and 16 miles away from Downtown Houston. Walnut Bend is conveniently located along major arteries in the area. It has Beltway 8 to its east, Westheimer Road to its south, Interstate 10 to its north, and Highway 6 to its west.
Why folks choose Walnut Bend:
Walnut Bend is an established subdivision of more than 900 homes located in West Houston, Texas. The neighborhood is sought after for its community feel, location near great restaurants, upscale shopping, and close proximity to the west side Energy Corridor. Walnut Bend features vintage homes from the 1950s to 1970s lined along quiet streets and cul-de-sacs with mature trees. Walnut Bend is divided into 10 sections. It has an active home association that strictly enforces deed restrictions across the community. All residents of Walnut Bend can enjoy seasonal community events as well as amenities such as recreation center gymnasium, pool, park, playground, tennis courts and many active social and civic groups. Residents may also join several clubs such as the women’s club, book club, and garden club.

Amenities in Walnut Bend:
Walnut Bend is no short of amenities. Residents here can enjoy three tennis courts, gymnasium with basketball court, a large covered pavilion with tables, large soccer field, and indoor kitchen. Walnut Bend also has a recreation center, volleyball courts, 3 swimming pools, playgrounds, and a community park. The pool has a slide, diving board, a splash pad with several water features and plenty of room for swimming laps. The park is a large grass field that is used for various sporting activities, movie nights, and more. The playground has swings, climb structure with slides, hill slide, playhouse, spring jeep, and spring elephant on a soft mulch surface.
District Rating:
A+ | Katy ISD has an A+ rating overall, with ten elementary schools, five junior high schools, and three high schools named in the overall top 10 schools for the entire Houston Area. Katy ISD is also in the top 1% of all school districts in the United States ranking #180 out of 10,758 districts. Parents and students love the schools and there are no schools in Katy ISD that have less than a B rating. Katy ISD is a flourishing suburban school district that encompasses 181 square miles in southeast Texas. Its eastern boundaries stretch to Houston’s energy corridor approximately 16 miles west of downtown Houston and extend along Interstate 10 to a few miles west of the city of Katy.

Residents are in close proximity to surrounding parks and outdoor recreation. The Terry Hershey Park and Buffalo Bayou hike-and-bike trails are less than a mile away, and the Lakeside Country Club is only 5 minutes away. Residents have an easy drive to shopping centers like the Heights, Downtown, The Galleria, the Washington Corridor and Memorial Park, Katy Mills Mall, as well as LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, which is a super fun outdoor hub for shopping, dining & entertainment, with a large green space for frequent local events & festivals. There's also an HEB, Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Top Golf, Texas Children's Hospital, At Home, Target, and so much more.
